Consortium Health Plans announces a preferred partnership with Hinge Health, a digital musculoskeletal (MSK) solution for employers and health plans, to address MSK care.

This new partnership provides Consortium’s member plans and their National Account members with guidance on a preferred partner to address high MSK spend with Hinge Health’s digital exercise therapy and health coaching solution, Hinge Health notes in a news release.

“The solutions surrounding musculoskeletal conditions for National Accounts are a top priority,” says Dr Aamir Rehman, SVP of Clinical Innovations and Partnerships at Consortium Health Plans, in the release.

“The need for access to top virtual care solutions has been amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe that Hinge Health is leading the way with meaningful engagement and outcomes.”

Musculoskeletal conditions are a leading contributor to disability worldwide. A study published recently by Stanford, University of California San Francisco, and Vanderbilt researchers suggests that Hinge Health’s digital MSK solution reduced each participant’s pain by an average of 69% and saved $5,012.52 per participant per year.

“We are excited to partner with Consortium to be a co-pilot for health plans and members to tackle chronic MSK pain, the root cause of avoidable back and joint surgeries, with the three pillars of best practice care: exercise therapy, behavioral coaching, and education,” states Hinge Health CEO and co-founder Daniel Perez, in the release.
