The NeckPro II is a new version of the NeckPro Cervical Traction Device redesigned by Magister Corp, headquartered in Chattanooga, Tenn, to be more user-friendly.

The device is intended to help relieve neck pain due to a herniated disc, pinched nerve, upper-extremity numbness, cervical radiculopathy, whiplash, muscle spasm, and osteoarthritis. It does not require water bags or heavy weights and is a drug-free solution, according to a release from the company.

An adjustable bracket attaches to the top of any door. The user slips on the head halter and pulls on the rope to apply tension. Once the rope is taught, each pull on the rope adds 1 pound of tension, up to a maximum of 25 pounds, the release explains.

Magister President David Maley, in the release, notes the device’s redesigned aspects: “We’ve redesigned the door bracket to replace the heavy steel bracket with a lightweight, high-impact injection-molded plastic. The bracket is now easily adjustable by simply using a ‘peg and hole’ method to adjust to the thickness of the door.”

“Secondly,” he adds, “the old PVC pipe that used to hold the tension spring has been replaced with a blue injection-molded housing with a rope release trigger on the side.”
