A webinar presented by Rehab Management Solutions (RMS) will aim to educate physical therapists nationwide on how to protect themselves from 3rd party payor penalties through its educational course “Compliance=Confidence: Is Your Practice Effective in Coding & Documentation?” According to an RMS news release, non-compliant physical therapy practices with 3rd party payor rules and regulations run the risk of things such as post-review audits, Medicare audits, or penalties.

As such, the goal of the educational webinar is to help physical therapists understand their professional responsibility of compliant documentation and coding. Topics in the hour-long webinar will include: the five types of notes and documentation requirements for each; how to avoid the top five audit flags; how to recognize the importance of documenting medical necessity and the need for skilled care; and the ten 97000 Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Code sets.

The live event will be Tuesday, May 13, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., CST. For those unable to attend, a recorded version of the webinar will be offered at a later date. Continuing education credit for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants has been submitted for approval in several states, as indicated on the RMS news release.
