The Board of Trustees at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, has approved the launch of a new School of Physical Therapy to help meet the increased demand for physical therapists and to facilitate access to physical therapy education, BGSU News reports.

BGSU’s School of Physical Therapy will house the Doctor of Physical Therapy program in the College of Health & Human Services. Once approved, the graduate program will integrate innovative technology that supports a 2-year accelerated hybrid program, allowing students to complete coursework online and participate in onsite lab instruction.

The hybrid model will enable BGSU to offer a unique opportunity for students to complete coursework from anywhere in the country.

“It’s a two-year program and it’s a hybrid program. The courses are online but then the students come together at one location for clinical experiences,” Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, Joe Whitehead, says, according to WTOL11.

The school plans to admit its first class of students for Fall 2022, according to BGSU News. For more information, visit Bowling Green State University.
