A new partnership announced by WebPT Inc and Georgia-based WellStar Health System will support interoperability with full integration of WebPT’s specialty EMR and WellStar’s Epic EHR, according to a news release.

Through the partnership, WebPT will give WellStar therapists access to its rehab therapy electronic medical record (EMR), and will allow a secure transfer of data through a key integration with WellStar’s physician-focused EHR, Epic.

WebPT is the first and only rehab therapy EMR to integrate with WellStar’s Epic EHR, the release notes.

“Our industry-leading outpatient therapy platform gives WellStar’s growing network of rehab providers the ability to track and analyze data to optimize clinic performance and patient outcomes, create compliant documentation, and ensure smooth data transfer across systems. More importantly, we’re able to join forces on our shared vision and mission to improve the quality of healthcare through better connections,” says Nancy Ham, CEO of WebPT, in the release.

“At WellStar, we put our patients first, and we believe that in order to deliver world-class healthcare, you need world-class technology,” states Jason Kelsey, assistant vice president of outpatient rehab and sports medicine for WellStar Health System, per the release.

“Today, we’re better able to equip providers with the tools and systems they need to deliver quality outcomes for rehab therapy patients and communicate with other providers across each patient’s spectrum of care.”
