WebPT, a provider of web-based electronic medical record (EMR) solution for rehabilitation therapists, announced that it has received a significant investment from Battery Ventures. According to a news release from WebPT, WebPT intends to use the new capital to accelerate growth. The founders of WebPT, Brad and Heidi Jannenga, will remain in key leadership positions.

The WebPT news release indicates that WebPT technology has been adopted by more than 35,000 therapists and 6,000 clinics in the United States and Canada. In addition to offering compliant and intuitive documentation, the web-based application is designed to provide physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists with intelligent business reporting, interactive and organized scheduling, and integrated billing.

Chelsea Stoner, Battery Ventures General Partner, who specializes in investments in software and healthcare technology, is joining the WebPT board.
