Fremont, Calif-based AlterG’s Anti-Gravity Treadmill recently took home the prize for Best Equipment or Kit at the UK Sports Technology Awards 2015. Competitors for the award included international sports technology and therapy companies such as Bodyflow International, Life Fitness, Partner Ball Rugby, TRUSOX, and Wahoo Fitness.

In a company news release, Trevor Donald, European sales director, emphasizes that he is delighted the company’s technology has been officially recognized as the Best Equipment by “such a well-qualified panel of judges.”

The release notes that the Sports Technology Awards are in their second year and provide an international kitemark, a UK product and service quality certification mark, of excellence across all aspects of the sports sector. This includes elite competitors, officials, clinicians, amateur sports people, and fans.

According to the release, the judging panel featured a range of expertise and included former vice chairman of the Football Association David Dein and elite British atheltes such as Marlon Devenish MBE and Tessa Sanderson CBE.
