Physical therapy rehab equipment manufacturer Tri W-G, headquartered in Valley City, North Dakota, recently gifted $100,000 to Foundation for Physical Therapy, to help fund advancements in physical therapy research.
Tri W-G vice president Duane Fast presented the gift to Foundation Board of Trustees President Barbara Connolly, PT, DPT, EdD, FAPTA, during the Foundation’s donor reception at the recent APTA Combined Sections Meeting in Anaheim, Calif.
“What a wonderful way to commence this year’s donor reception,” Connolly says, in a media release from the Foundation. “Over the years, Tri W-G has donated over $450,000; we at the Foundation are deeply grateful for this generous gift.”
“It is with the support and commitment of Partners like Tri W-G that the Foundation is able to continue funding physical therapy research and developing the next generation of researchers,” she adds.
Foundation for Physical Therapy was established in 1979 to help support scientifically based and clinically relevant physical therapy research and doctoral scholarships and fellowships. Since its inception, it has awarded more than $17 million in research grants, fellowships, and scholarships to more than 576 scientists, per the release.
Tri W-G has supported the Foundation for more than 3 decades. In 2008, it received the Premier Partner in Research Award for its substantial contributions to the Foundation.
“Our long-time investment in the Foundation not only highlights our commitment to research but also represents the role the PT industry should play,” states Fast, who served on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees for 11 years and continues to be a proponent of the Foundation.
