Clinicient, Portland, Ore, has announced its support and readiness for UnitedHealthcare’s new reimbursement requirements for Medicare Advantage and AARP-branded Medicare Complete Plans. Clinicient notes in a recent news release that its approach to changing payor requirements is intended to ensure that its customers are well-equipped to meet new requirements, as well as continue to receive fair and appropriate compensation for outstanding patient care as healthcare transitions from fee-for-service to outcomes-based reimbursement.
Mike Studer, PT, MHS, NCS, CEEAA, practice owner of Northwest Rehabilitation Associates, Salem, Ore, emphasizes the significance of functional limitation reporting (FLR), as it “adds to the growing list of documentation demands placed on therapy practices—including the MPPR and PQRS. If the FLR is not handled effectively, tracking and calculating this can be a time-consuming burden on therapists and lead to reporting gaps that may halt payment and put a practice at risk for lost revenue, or even audit.”
The company adds in the news release that it continues to support its customers with a solution built to blend integrated clinical management technology with professional services and revenue cycle management expertise.
The release reports that in the US, the outpatient rehabilitation industry is comprised of approximately 24,000 practices with nearly $25 billion in annual reimbursable billings.
