Patty Scheets, Vice President of Quality & Clinical Outcomes for Infinity Rehab, was re-elected as President of the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy (ANPT), a component of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Patty is in the third year of her first term, which began July 1, 2017. She begins her second term July 1, 2020, where she will continue her role as President through June 2023.

“It’s an honor to be elected by my peers to lead an organization that has been a big part of my professional life,” Scheets states in a media release from Infinity Rehab, based in Wilsonville, Ore.

“Organizations go through cycles, and ANPT has experienced significant growth in the breadth of activity in which we are involved.”

As the ANPT President, Scheets establishes and implements the academy’s strategic plans by working with fellow board members, committees, special interest groups, and task forces.

In 2019, ANPT had 256 members who volunteered as part of these various groups. Through their efforts, the board donated $715,000 to the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research since 2001. They also created three clinical practice guidelines and knowledge transition tools for physical therapists.

ANPT is currently forging its strategic plans, and Scheets is excited to bring her expertise to this process.

“ANPT attracts a host of bright and energetic members and volunteers who have amazing ideas and are willing to do the work to make things happen,” Scheets adds. “It’s a joy to be a part of it all.”
