Precor announces it has reached a new milestone with its networked fitness consoles. As of June 2019, Precor had surpassed 100,000 networked units in more than 7700 facilities in 98 countries, the Seattle-based company reports.

“Over the last ten years, we [Precor] have not only been thinking about and designing products for the fitness space, but we’ve been studying the bigger picture of just how technology and fitness integrate into the lives of our customers and our exercisers. Reaching this milestone provides more proof that connecting technology with fitness is no longer a trend; it is the norm,” says Dave Flynt, Vice President of Experience Design at Precor, in the release.

Featured in Precor is Preva, an open-sourced operating system that offers facility managers flexibility and choice in creating a custom experience that is tailored to each facility. Preva utilizes a series of strategic partners including eGym, ClubCom, and Netpulse, designed to provide beneficial functionalities such as asset management, data/user analysis, marketing outreach, and facility programming.

Preva also features an interface designed to help exercisers connect to entertainment, social, and content apps while in motion. A single sign-on experience allows members to gain quick access to their content and the ability to begin their workout without interruption.

To date, Preva has logged more than 725 million workouts worldwide, Precor estimates in the release.

“These numbers give our customers real assurance that the Precor networked solution can be trusted and is growing,” states Darrin Stock, senior product marketing manager at Precor. “Clearly, Precor has moved far beyond the startup days of networked fitness – yet a decade in, and we’re [Precor] still very excited to bring more innovation and experiences to the market.”
