OPTP, Minneapolis, releases a set of four posters illustrated in such a way to communicate the principles behind the neuroscience of pain.

The posters were created in partnership with physical therapist and author Adriaan Louw, and feature content and illustrations from Louw’s patient education books published by OPTP, such as the “Why You Hurt” series.

The 17 ¾-inch x 24-inch posters are designed to help patients understand the reasons why they hurt, and could be ideal for display in therapy clinics or rehabilitation centers, according to a media release from OPTP.

The four posters are titled: “The Brain’s Pain Meeting,” “The Body’s Alarm System,” “The Pain Cycle,” and “Tissues: Did You Know.”
