New from Motus Global, Massapequa, NY, is motusQB, a wearable technology designed to measure a football quarterback’s arm health in order to enhance performance and avoid injury.

According to a media release from Motus Global, motusQB consists of a 3D sensor embedded in a compression arm sleeve or armband that is worn throughout all throwing activity. The sensor records raw 3D movement data of the throwing arm, which is then transmitted via Bluetooth to a mobile app where it can be analyzed during or after a training session.

The data gathered through these throwing sessions can therefore help coaches and players identify risk factors for injury and fatigue, and to identify training loads that optimize player arm health, performance, and throw speed.
