The new Kumo Board replaces traditional hard wood and plastic materials with high-pressure inflation technology, enabling the balance board to be soft and rigid at the same time.
Kumo means Cloud in Japanese. “Being on a Kumo Board is like balancing on a cloud,” explains Dan Smith, co-creator of the Kumo Board, in a media release.
The complete set includes the board, roller, and cushion, two deflator valve caps, two Velcro carry straps that convert into a stretching strap, and an instruction booklet.
By adjusting the inflation to various configurations, the board, roller, and air cushion can be customized to the user’s skill level and size.
Inflation can be accomplished using any bike pump, electric car tire inflator or air compressor, and deflation can be done using the included deflator. Once deflated, the board can be rolled up when not in use for easy storage and travel, according to the release.
