“Lucky’s Wall” is finally a reality at a physical therapy center in Decatur, Ill, largely due to the persistence of 5-year-old Lucky McMahon. After 2 years of asking, Lucky — who was born with hydrocephalus — was able to convince Decatur Memorial Hospital to build the wall at its Sports Enhancement Center.
Lucky aims to use the climbing wall during his weekly therapy sessions to help build his strength and mobility. Other children in the area with developmental delays will be able to use it, too, according to his physical therapist.
