John Gallucci, Jr, MS, ATC, PT, DPT, president and founder of JAG Physical Therapy, is releasing a new book to aid in the prevention and treatment of soccer-related injuries. The book, titled “Soccer Injury Prevention and Treatment,” aims to prevent injuries by providing guidelines for athletes to avoid injury.  Gallucci says, “It’s guideline to help parents and coaches keep their kids and players safe while playing soccer.”

Gallucci states, “We’re excited about it. It’s a dream come true for me. To be able to help people when they get hurt, and more importantly, to prevent injuries because athletes belong on the field and not in the doctor’s office. This book gives guidelines … so athletes can avoid injuries.” According to a SiLive.com news report, the book is already drawing praise from soccer athletes. Gallucci says the book took 17 to 18 months to complete.

JAG Physical Therapy has eight outpatient clinics in New Jersey and Manhattan as well as JAG Pediatric Therapy. Gallucci has also been the medical coordinator for Major League Soccer for the past 6 years. The book, which is being published by Demos Health, is due to go on sale June 1. Pre-sales are available.
