Stump Support

The Swing Away stump support from Gerber Chair Mates Inc supports the residual limb of a person with a leg amputation, and allows for proper positioning to pre-vent edema and knee-flexion contracture. The support attaches to the front rigging of a wheelchair. Swing-away action facilitates transfer in and out of the chair and allows for ease in folding and transporting the wheelchair. The device adjusts horizontally for the length of the stump and fits under the seat. It adjusts vertically for the height of the cushion, helping to ensure the residual limb is maintained in a straight horizontal position. It is designed for health and comfort, and blends in with the wheelchair to help boost the user's positive self-image.

Gait Harness System

Second Step Inc introduces the Total Transfer gait harness system, a combined transfer and therapy system that offers patients a new way to sit, stand, and walk without complex transfer setups. It helps eliminate bending and lifting, and transports patients from a bed into a supported, standing position. The system helps foster patient comfort and safety during the transfer and therapy process, and addresses patient needs from acute to chronic settings. The system is used by caregivers and those in occupational and physical therapy settings to help people walk again after challenges due to loss of balance; falls; spinal cord injury; traumatic brain injury; Parkinson's disease; Alzheimer's disease; lower-extremity amputations; orthotic use; and other ambulation, gait, and balance rehabilitation challenges.
