Yoga Therapy Back Swing

METTA Physical Therapy introduces a multipurpose Therapeutic-Exercise and Spinal Rehab Swing for total-body stretching and strengthening, spinal joint mobilization, self-treatment of neck and back pain, neck or back traction, inversion therapy, gymnastics, balance and coordination, and neuromuscular re-education and repatterning.

The back swing can be used as a sky chair or for suspended meditation. Spreading the overhead suspension hooks wide apart creates a hammock-like device for total relaxation or resting. It features a cushioned fabric sling, an attached pull-up bar and six maneuverable handles at varying heights. It can also be suspended from its optional support frame, which may be hung from the ceiling rafters in a house, or from the branch of a tree.

For more information, contact METTA Physical Therapy, PO Box 3386, Chico, CA 95927; (877) YOGA-854; www.yogaswing.com.

Coding Filters

Rehab Documentation Co Inc offers Coding Alert Module (ReClaim) that helps therapists identify and fix reimbursement problems before a claim is submitted, resulting in a significant decrease in denials, timely appeals, and administrative tasks.

ReClaim, a set of filters that work within the ReDoc Documentation Suite, alerts the therapist at the point of care on the medical necessity, NCCI edits, and excluded benefits based on the specific filters for each patient’s insurance carrier. When the therapist is designing the initial plan of care or documenting interventions in a progress/treatment note, ReClaim cross-references the chosen intervention (CPT code) to determine whether it breaks the patient’s payor’s rules for reimbursement. If a rule is violated, the therapist is alerted with specific messages describing which interventions require a modifier or cannot be billed together on the same date, or are totally excluded. The therapist then correctly adds modifiers to the appropriate CPT code and does not charge for interventions that will not be reimbursed on the same date or are totally excluded.

For more information, contact Rehab Documentation Co Inc, 111 10th Ave S, Suite 400, Gateway Pavilion, Nashville, TN 37203; (888) 401-4400; www.rehabdocumentation.com.

Rehabilitation Treadmill

Biodex Medical Systems Inc introduces RTM400 and RTM600 rehabilitation treadmills that offer a true zero starting speed with .10-mph increments over a range up to 10 mph, including a powered incline (0%–15%) and decline (-3%–12%) in both forward and reverse directions.

Versatile for all patient populations, the treadmills are quiet, easy to operate, and safe to use. While both units offer an open-platform design for unobstructed use, the RTM600 provides a color touch-screen display, a heart rate monitor, and the ability to create and store custom profiles.

For more information, contact Biodex Medical Systems Inc, 20 Ramsay Rd, Shirley, NY 11967-4704; (800) 224-6339; www.Biodex.com.

The 370 Series features a height-adjustable upper e-resistance system module that crank-adjusts from 36 inches to 50 inches from the floor.

A semirecumbent seat is orthopedically designed for even weight distribution. The seat adjusts front-to-rear for proper user positioning and rotates 360° to provide easy access. The seat assembly may be removed to allow for wheelchair accessibility.
