An implantable generator developed by medical device company Neuros Medical, Inc. may help provide relief to patients who suffer from chronic pain. The device, named Altius, is engineered to deliver high frequency electrical nerve block technology to a targeted nerve via an implanted electrode. Patients can activate the device with a small remote control, which provides on-demand treatment of chronic pain conditions. The rechargeable Altius device, which is manufactured to be approximately one-third the size of an iPhone, is intended to function as a system to enable patients who have chronic pain to utilize an implantable and reportedly easy to use device to help alleviate pain.
