pro-rehabAshley Alm, PT, DPT, and Kyle Matsel, PT, DPT, CSCS, from ProRehab, Evansville, Ind, recently graduated from the ProRehab and University of Evansville Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program, according to a press release issued by the private physical therapy practice. The program is reportedly designed to provide physical therapists with advanced proficiency in the complete care of athletes including pre-participation physicals, performance enhancement, injury prevention, on-field management, rehabilitation, and return to sport considerations.

 

Alm reportedly received her bachelor’s degree in integrative physiology from the University of Iowa and graduated from the doctor of physical therapy program at Des Moines University. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in health care administration, according to the release. Matsel received his undergraduate degree is exercise science from the University of Southern Indiana and graduated from the doctor of physical therapy program at the University of Evansville. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

 

Both Alm and Matsel reportedly plan to continue their involvement with the Sports Physical Therapy Residency as mentors and curriculum committee members. Bethany Huebner, PT, DPT, SCS, sports residency coordinator at ProRehab, says Alm and Matsel also both played an active role in the research, development, and implementation of JAC Training, an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) prevention program for local high school athletes, and the organization of physicals for University of Evansville athletes.
