Oak Brook, Ill-based Athletico Physical Therapy announces on its website that it has reached a marketing agreement with Learfield Sports’ Hawkeyes Sports Properties, the official multimedia partner of the University of Iowa (UI) Hawkeyes.
According to the release, this agreement expands Athletico’s footprint within collegiate athletics and makes the University of Iowa the fourth Big Ten Conference University to be a company partner.
As part of the agreement, the release notes, the partnership will include digital and radio marketing assets as well as hospitality opportunities for Athletico. The company will also be the presenting sponsor of the Bowl Game Central page of hawkeyesports.com, the official website of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Athletico recently expanded into Iowa with the acquisition of Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers, which includes 25 locations in Iowa. All 330 Accelerated locations in nine states will be rebranded as Athletico in the upcoming months, according to the release.
Athletico CEO and president Mark Kaufman notes in the release that he is thrilled to announce this partnership and to support Hawkeye athletics.
“This is a natural step for Athletico with our recent expansion into Iowa, and for me, a proud graduate of the University, it’s especially exciting,” he adds. “I look forward to building upon this relationship for many years to come.”
Gary Barta, the UI’s director of athletics, states in the release that the partnership between Athletico and University of Iowa is exciting, and a win-win. “Mark Kaufman has been a great Hawkeye friend and supporter for many years,” he shares.
Athletico President and CEO Donates to Education Training Program
In other news, the University of Iowa Foundation announces that Athletico’s Mark and Mary Ann Kaufman recently donated $1 million to transform the endowed fellowship in the UI Athletic Training Education Program, which they established in 2005, into the Danny T. Foster Professorship in Athletic Training Education.
This professorship, part of the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, was funded in honor of Dan Foster, long-time leader of the UI Athletic Training Education program, according to the website.
