Professional Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, based in Uniondale, NY, announces in a press release that it has recently acquired Premier Physical Therapy & Wellness.

According to the release, Premier’s 13 locations in Manhattan, Westchester, and Connecticut will be incorporated into Professional Physical Therapy, and will enable the practice to serve patients in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

“Expanding our footprint in New York City and Westchester, while entering Fairfield County, Connecticut, is a tremendous benefit to our referral sources, patients, and employees. This is an exciting and transformative transaction for Professional,” says Adam Elberg, Professional’s founding partner, CEO, and president, in the release.

“Premier enjoyed growing into the second largest New York City-based provider of physical therapy,” says John J. Benke, Premier owner, in the release.

“My partners, Laura Benke and Joseph Tatta, and I recognized the current market of consolidation in healthcare and our need to join forces with Professional,” Benke continues in the release.

With this consolidation, Professional Physical Therapy now has 57 clinics operating throughout Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn, Long Island, Westchester, Rockland, New Jersey, and Connecticut, per the release.

According to the release, 12 of these clinics are located within Equinox Fitness Centers, four are located in Blink facilities, one is located in a STACK Velocity Sports Performance Center, and 40 are stand-alone. Additionally, Professional operates a 20,000-square-foot sports performance training facility in Garden City, New York.
