King of Prussia, Pa-based MedRisk Inc announces in a press release that it has tapped Matthew Walsworth, MD, PT, to join its International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB).

MedRisk Inc provides physical rehabilitation and diagnostic imaging solutions for the workers’ compensation industry. Per the release, the ISAB consists of specialists in physical medicine, diagnostic imaging, and electrodiagnostics who oversee all the clinical aspects of MedRisk’s programs.

These aspects include the company’s proprietary evidence-based guideline development and maintenance, the release continues.

Walsworth is an interventional and diagnostic radiologist at the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Medical Center and an assistant clinical professor in Health Sciences at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). He is also a published author and presenter in a range of diagnostic and treatment areas, the release explains.

His academic credentials, the release continues, include a master’s degree in physical therapy from US Army-Baylor University and a Doctor of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he also conducted his residency in radiology. His fellowship in interventional radiology took place at UCLA.

As well, he holds numerous board certifications, including the American Board of Radiology Board Certification, per the release.

“Dr Walsworth is the first ISAB member to have such deep expertise in both physical therapy and diagnostic services,” says ISAB Chair Phil McClure, in the release.

“Matt is a board-certified radiologist with extensive experience who began his medical career as a physical therapist in the army,” said MedRisk CEO Shelley Boyce in the release.

“He is uniquely suited to advise MedRisk on the clinical aspects of both diagnostic imaging and physical medicine,” Boyce continues.
