Fremont, Calif-based AlterG reports that it has released an upgraded version of its Bionic Leg. The AlterG Bionic Leg 1.8 features improvements in both soft goods and hardware elements.
According to the release, the improvements include a new non-permeable material that is in direct contact with the user’s pants/legs, designed to make the Bionic Leg simple to put on, easy to clean, and comfortable.
The product also features new reversible foot sensors, built for quicker patient setup and interchangeable sensor use; and updated cable wiring from the hardware to the foot sensor for easy fittings.
“These substantial improvements to the Bionic Leg were a result of feedback from physical therapists, physicians, and patients, as we’re constantly looking to improve their experience and the ease of use and effectiveness of the Bionic Leg,” says Gabriel Griego, VP of marketing and clinical at AlterG.
The AlterG team worked with customers during the past year to assess the Bionic Leg and did rigorous testing and quality checks while developing this new version, per the release.
Griego emphasizes that, “Our aim is to continue to develop and create the most advanced physical rehab and training technology available, and we are proud that the Bionic Leg is helping thousands of patients every day get up on their feet and improve their strength and mobility.”
