Rod McCrimmon has been hired by Ottobock to serve as its director of Marketing for Ottobock North America. In his role, a news release from the Austin, Texas-based company reports that McCrimmon is responsible for the product marketing team managing orthotics, bracing, prosthetics, and mobility.

The release notes that McCrimmon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Northwestern University and earned his Master of Management degree from J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He comes to Ottobock from St Jude Medical, where he was the director for Integrated Lab Marketing. Prior positions include senior director of marketing for Stereotaxis and numerous leadership roles in sales and marketing over his 11 years with GE Healthcare.

Scott Schneider, chief marketing officer for Ottobock North America, singles out McCrimmon’s experience in the medical device industry as a key component that “makes him an excellent fit for his new position. His proven commitment to the patient and his demonstrated ability to successfully market breakthrough technology on a global platform is impressive, and we look forward to his contributions.”
