Rockville, Md-based LCG, a provider of grants management and technology solutions to federal agencies, has been awarded a $31 million contract to provide information systems and technology services and support to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes (NINDS), according to a company news release.
The new task order is under the Chief Information Officer-Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) contract and has a 5-year period of performance.
Under the contract’s terms, LCG will deliver an experienced technical staff to offer full lifecycle project management, network and data center operations, database management, help desk support, and security operations, assessment, and authorization. LCG will leverage its technology expertise to develop applications and web-collaboration tools intended to enhance productivity and support NINDS staff and researchers in achieving the organization’s public health mandate.
Raymond C. Tye, LCG chief operating officer, notes that its work for NINDS over the years includes “implementing sophisticated and top-line secure mobile workstations and devices. Additionally, we have built state-of-art internal and external collaboration sites that better enable groundbreaking scientific research. We are excited to continue this long-standing partnership, implementing services that support and secure the IT infrastructure, while also developing new applications that support scientists and their essential research.”
The release states that NINDS is mandated with supporting and conducting scientific and medical research targeting fundamental knowledge about the brain and nervous system, and aims to leverage that knowledge to reduce the impact and burden of neurological diseases.
