AlignMed has received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Registration for its line of specialty garments. The Align Garments are wellness wear designed to reduce pain and improve posture, and the garments are worn on the upper body to support, correct, and prevent injuries as well as align body structures for functional improvement. A news release from AlignMed notes that the company’s products are in an elite category of garments approved by the FDA Registration process as a Class 1 Medical Device.
The Align garments are engineered to be comfortable, non-restrictive, and form-fitting, and feature Touch-Tension Neuroband technology that stimulates nerves and fires muscles to align the body’s joints with each movement of the leg, shoulder, hip, back, chest, and neck. The AlignMed news release indicates that these garments are constructed with materials that provide moisture wicking, biocompatible, and anti-microbial properties.
The primary applications for these garments include injury prevention, joint unloading, muscle balancing, and as a recovery tool for surgery or trauma to the upper and lower extremities. In addition, those who frequently use the computer can use it to fend off back pain, neck pain, and poor posture prompted by excessive sitting and repetitive movements.
AlignMed founder Bill Schultz says the company is thrilled to get the “thumbs up” from the FDA and adds that AlignMed is on a “mission to help people move better and reduce pain through aligning the body. Our garments are proven to do just that.”
