The Pilates Helper Straps, developed by Joseph Pilates protégé Kathy Grant, is a device that is designed to assist people in learning how to perform difficult Pilates exercises more efficiently. The straps, which attach to the bars of the Cadillac, give people balance and leverage to help center the body so that the arms and legs can coordinate to perform challenging spinal movements. The helper straps have loops at both ends to attach to the bars of the Cadillac and for the hands to slip through, and the palms of the hands press down through the loops to lend even balance to either side of the body. The palms can also press downwards and reach outward to gain arm-to-back-to-spine connection.
