Any Given Monday Speaks to Parents and Young Athletes About Preventing Sports Injury

youth sportsWith the more than 3.5 million children who will require medical treatment for sports-related injuries each year, James R. Andrews, MD, wrote the book Any Given Monday for parents, grandparents, coaches, and young athletes to prevent sports injuries. The book is intended to be a sport-by-sport guide to injury prevention and treatment that offers practical advice for major youth sports, including football, basketball, baseball, and tennis. As a guide to help young athletes maximize their talent and maintain their health, advice is offered on a range of topics, such as identifying eating disorders and preventing concussion. Andrews reportedly has pledged to contribute 100% of the proceeds from the book to support the STOP Campaign, a youth sports injury prevention group.
