PHI Pilates, Pittsburgh, now offers a new online course, titled “Pilates as Treatment for Back Pain in the Client with Sway Back Posture.” The course reportedly includes exercises on the mat, reformer, trapeze table, and ladder barrel.
Christine Romani-Ruby, PT, MPT, ATC, PMA, CPT, founder and director of PHI Pilates, hosts the narrated PowerPoint presentation, which teaches about the characteristics and problems in sway back posture and reviews surrounding causes and effects. Romani-Ruby also demonstrates postural evaluation in a lab, as well as shows Pilates-based exercise treatment of a patient with sway back posture and chronic low back pain.
Continuing education units for the course include BOC-3 and pending PMA-3. “Pilates as Treatment for Back Pain in the Client with Sway Back Posture” is available at the PHI Pilates online store.
